Is there a sweat-shop in your refrigerator? Each summer over 400 migrant workers leave their homes and families and come to work on Manitoba farms. Most come from Mexico. These workers face low pay and difficult working conditions; while they pay taxes, they do not qualify for many of the benefits other Manitoba workers enjoy, such as health care. Members of Manitoba's Migrant Worker Solidarity Network are available to visit your church during the Lenten season and beyond to make a short presentation on the experiences of Manitoba's agricultural workers. Besides facts and stories, we will share ideas for action and support. Please contact us at mw.solidarity@gmail.com or call Jennifer at 772-7280 for more information.

The Archdiocesan choir will resume practices in preparation for the Mass of the Oils to be held on Mon., March 29 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. Rehearsals will be held at St. John Cantius Parish, 846 Burrows Ave., Sun. March 7, 14, and 21 at 2:30 p.m. For more information please contact Fr. Geoffrey at 589-5583.

To Pastors or Parish Administrators
Over the past two years, "GiFT" (Growing in Faith Together) committee has offered several opportunities for adult faith formation in the Archdiocese of Winnipeg. We have had guest speakers to give us a greater understanding of what we believe. Our biggest thrust was to implement and support scripture study. Several facilitators' training sessions have been offered hoping that this faith formation based on scripture would be an ongoing source of spiritual growth in your parish. To further supplement the scripture study, we are offering a day entitled: Praying With Scripture. This day will present experiences of praying with scripture individually in private prayer and also praying with scripture in a group. Sat., April 24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Blessed John XXIII Church, 3390 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. A light lunch will be provided at no charge. Click here for a poster that we ask that you display in your church which includes information as to who should attend and what Lectio Divina/Break Open The Word is.
