Lectio Divina

Lectio Divina ("divine reading" in Latin) is a traditional Benedictine practice of scriptural reading, meditation, and prayer, intended to promote communion with God and to increase knowledge of God's Word. It does not treat Scripture as texts to be studied, but as the Living Word to be embraced. On March 3, 2019, through a Pastoral Letter, Archbishop Gagnon encouraged everyone in the Archdiocese of Winnipeg to incorporate lectio divina into their way of life - as individuals, as families, as groups, and as entire parish communities.
