"You will find here, a short summary of our Synod which began on Pentecost, 2016 and ended on Pentecost, 2018. Most importantly, this document, which is a post-synodal proclamation, will provide the reader with a clear reflection on what inspired the Synod and the fruits which have resulted." - from Disciples on the Way, page 3
Lectio Divina ("divine reading" in Latin) is a traditional Benedictine practice of scriptural reading, meditation, and prayer, intended to promote communion with God and to increase knowledge of God's Word. It does not treat Scripture as texts to be studied, but as the Living Word to be embraced. On March 3, 2019, through a Pastoral Letter, Archbishop Gagnon encouraged everyone in the Archdiocese of Winnipeg to incorporate lectio divina into their way of life - as individuals, as families, as groups, and as entire parish communities. Click here to view a conversation between Archbishop Gagnon and members of the National Week for Life and the Family (NWLF) committee on lectio divina.
